About The Stylist

Meet John Gallimore:

John has been cutting and styling hair for over 35 years. As you can imagine, over that time he has managed to do a little bit of everything in the hair styling world.

After working at a few hair salons, in the mid 90’s, John opened up his first hair salon, Salon Gallimore. While originally starting as a small hair salon, it quickly grew, and within a few years, John had found himself running out of space and moved the hair salon through three different buildings before settling in at it’s final location in Voorhees, NJ with over 25 employees. The salon had turned into a full fledged beauty center, offering hair services, nails, waxing, facials, massages, airbrush makeup, and more. Next door, John had also opened a discount hair supply store, making a trip to his hair salon, an all around experience.

While owning the salon, John was always trying to go above and beyond, and helping out whenever he could. He and Salon Gallimore sponsored the Philadelphia Soul football team, he and his employees would take care of the cheerleaders hairstyling needs before the football games. He and his salon also initiated a few charities, one of which being a “think pink” day. Anyone could come by to the salon, pay for the service, you would receive a pink hair extension to show appreciation for the cause, while 100% of the proceeds went towards the charity.

After many years of owning a very busy salon, John eventually got burned out from the stress of managing such a big salon and the amount of employees, and decided to leave and take a management position at Ulta. While this was at times a big relief for John, the corporate restrictions and control placed on John had made him felt restricted. Towards the end of his tenure at Ulta, John had began tossing around the idea of opening a hair salon again. However this time, he wanted to keep it small and maintain a personal environment with his customers.

In fall of 2017, John had opened the doors of John Roberts Hair Studio. Unlike many other hair salons, John’s salon now offers a quiet atmosphere, without the typical hectic feeling you get from other salons, with everything going on in the background. When customers come to visit for an appointment, it is their time, a one-to-one basis.
